Antoine BASHUNG
ASBA artist – Last Train
Antoine Baschung is a passionate musician whose drumming is a raw, visceral and precise force, deeply rooted in the world of indie rock.
A founding member of Last Train, for over ten years he has embodied the tension between controlled rage and raw emotion that is the essence of the quartet. On stage and in the studio, he develops an instinctive approach to his instrument, where every blow, every silence, every break serves a purpose.
Born into a generation that grew up between the heritage of classic rock and the radicalism of contemporary sounds, he forged his musical personality early on, marked by intensity, honesty and a refusal to compromise. While his roots are deeply rooted in rock, his playing is also nourished by multiple influences: from post-rock to noise, from grunge to electro, via more cinematic aesthetics. This richness allows him to constantly explore new sonic territories, while remaining faithful to a clear guideline: play true.
With Last Train, he has been criss-crossing the French and European stages for many years, multiplying tours, major festivals and strong collaborations. His powerful, organic playing and total stage presence make him as much a rhythmic pillar as an emotional driving force for the band. He is a narrator, a craftsman of tension in his own right.
