ASBA artist – Gringe
Sylab, real name Basile Hauth, is a musician, producer and drummer from Strasbourg, born in 1997. At the age of ten, he discovered the drums and began a rigorous apprenticeship with renowned teachers such as Franck Agulhon, Loïc Pontieux, Matthieu Zirn, Olivier Baldissera, Denis Guivarc'h and Brad Thomas Ackley.
An unconventional musician with a strong artistic identity, Basile Hauth stands out as one of the most distinctive talents of his generation. Equally a live drummer, studio producer, and introspective artist under the moniker Sylab, he embodies a bold and unrestrained vision of musical creation.
Passionate from an early age about rhythm, sonic experimentation, and composition, he took his first steps into rap and computer-assisted music (MAO) at the age of 16. This entry point marked the beginning of a personal journey, blending the codes of hip-hop with a wide range of instrumental influences.
Live Drummer & Studio Producer
On stage, he has performed alongside artists such as Gringe, Orelsan, Sidney, Bvstards, Doria D, Coline Blf, and Essyla, developing a rhythmic presence that is both precise and compelling. In 2024, he joined Gringe for the Hypersensible Tour, with standout concerts at La Cigale and L’Olympia, before continuing in 2025 with a summer festival tour including Dour, Beauregard, Les Déferlantes, Les Francofolies de La Réunion, and more to come.
In the studio, he composes, produces, and mixes for a variety of projects, spanning rap, soul, RnB, rock, and electronic music—a testament to his rare versatility and sharp musical instinct.

For nearly a decade, Basile has been cultivating a deeply personal musical universe under the name Sylab—a dense and introspective project through which he explores vulnerability, inner struggles, and existential questions. His music lives at the intersection of French rap, metal, jazz, and electronic music, defined by a singular sonic identity—blending raw power, harmonic richness, and emotional honesty.
