François BRISK
ASBA artist – Vital Breath / Mégaphone
François Brisk is a professional drummer known for his powerful, precise playing, with over 30 years of stage and studio experience on the French and international rock and metal scenes.
François Brisk began playing drums at the age of 14. Driven early on by a deep passion for the instrument, he built solid experience over more than a decade within various bands, exploring a wide range of musical styles from rock and rhythm and blues to pop and metal.
At the same time, he pursued a demanding training path in several recognized music schools and institutions in the Rhône-Alpes region: the MJC of Pont-de-Beauvoisin with Jean-Marc Cujel, the APEJ of Chambéry with François Longuemare, and the Tama Paiste School led by Georges Latanski in Chambéry.
In 1993, following a drum workshop in Antibes alongside Gilles Choir, Fabrice Drigues, and Jean-Marc Lajudie, his calling became clear and François decided to pursue music as a profession. This decision led him in 1995 to the C.M.C.N in Nancy (now known as the M.A.I), where he completed an intensive one-year professional program.
After graduating, he joined the French metal band Dyslesia, remaining with the group until 2008. This collaboration marked a major turning point in his career, resulting in four albums and one DVD released worldwide, as well as numerous tours and prestigious performances alongside major metal acts such as Iron Maiden, Manowar, Rhapsody of Fire, Stratovarius, Symphony X, Rage, Royal Hunt, and Vanden Plas.
At the same time, François toured with singer Jeanne Mas during 1999 and 2000, demonstrating strong musical versatility and an ability to adapt to very different artistic environments.
In 2008, he joined the Franco-Belgian band Virus IV and took part in the album Dark Sun. He then performed on the international metal scene alongside renowned bands including Scorpions, Saxon, Testament, Firewind, Adagio, and Pagan’s Mind.
Since 2013, François has been the drummer of the alternative rock/metal band Vital Breath, with whom he has recorded three albums.
He is also the drummer for Mégaphone – Le Show Téléphone, a tribute to the legendary French rock band Téléphone. Active since 2002, the band has performed more than 500 concerts to date, confirming François Brisk’s strong stage presence and long-standing musical endurance.
An experienced, powerful, and precise drummer, François Brisk stands out as a complete musician with a rich career and a strong identity deeply rooted in the French and international rock and metal scenes.
