Lizzy Kicks
ASBA artist – Star Rider, Last Escape
Lizzy is a young drummer directly inspired by some of the greatest heavy and thrash metal drummers of the 1980s and 1990s.
His playing is built around an expansive, hard-hitting, and powerful approach, while still retaining the finesse and groove of 1970s rock. Over the years, he has also embraced more modern influences by exploring metalcore, making him a highly versatile drummer capable of moving effortlessly between classic and contemporary styles.
Lizzy started playing drums at a very young age, exploring genres such as jazz, funk, and blues. These styles helped him develop the technique and finesse that still define his playing today.
Despite this musical background, his goal was always to join a heavy metal band, a genre in which he truly feels at home. In early 2023, he joined Star Rider.
Star Rider delivers a brand of heavy metal heavily influenced by speed metal and 70s rock, a perfect match for Lizzy’s style of drumming. He played his first major shows opening for renowned acts such as Enforcer, Geoff Tate, and Blaze Bayley. He also recorded the band’s debut album, Outta Time, released in October 2024. The album was very well received and even earned reviews from Rolling Stone.
At the same time, Lizzy embraced a more modern sound by launching a metalcore project with a friend called Last Escape. The band has been developing throughout 2026 while preparing the release of its debut single.
Last Escape combines old-school metalcore influences such as Avenged Sevenfold with a more modern approach inspired by Landmvrks, one of the leading names in the current French metal scene.
To support these exciting projects, Lizzy chose a beautiful ASBA Fantôme kit fitted with Evans Hydraulic Red drumheads, creating a unique visual effect with red tones shining through the 10”, 12”, 16”, and 22” shells. He also wanted to add a distinctive aesthetic touch by opting for offset lugs, giving the kit an even more exclusive look.
“The Fantôme is the perfect compromise for my different projects. It allows me to blend modern and old-school sounds thanks to a tone that is easy to control and a well-managed sustain.”
