Lola WARIN
ASBA artist – P.R2B
Lola is a Paris-based French drummer and percussionist whose playing blends groove, curiosity, and influences ranging from jazz to electronic music. Her versatility leads her to collaborate with both contemporary artists and orchestral projects.
Lola is a French drummer and percussionist based in Paris. She studied classical percussion at the Conservatory with Daniel Sauvage, principal timpanist at the Reims Opera. After graduating, a lingering frustration remained: she had not devoted enough time to the drums, the instrument that had always been closest to her heart. She then decided to fully immerse herself in it as a self-taught drummer, shaped by influences such as Tony Allen, Mark Giuliana, Billy Cobham, and Yussef Dayes. Her versatility quickly opened the doors to today’s music scene. She has collaborated with Moodoïd, Feu! Chatterton, Vincent Dedienne, Nili Hadida (Lilly Wood and the Prick), and P.R2B. Curious and eclectic, she also explores hybrid territories, performing the electronic and contemporary music of Jonathan Pontier alongside the Mulhouse Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dylan Corlay. In 2024, she began focusing on writing and composing her own music, developing a universe that moves between jazz and electronic music. The following year, she recorded a live session in South America, set on a rooftop in Paraguay. It was there that her solo project was born.
“With ASBA, I’ve found a precise instrument that follows me through contrasts, sound, detail, and presence. It’s a real joy to play a unique instrument, handcrafted with care in a small workshop, and to be connected with a passionate, human-sized team.”
