Niko SARRAN

ASBA artist – Red Beans & Pepper Sauce

Niko Sarran has established himself over time as a well-rounded musician — both an inspired drummer and a respected sound producer — known for his versatility, sharp ear, and deep musical sensibility.

A passionate and genuinely versatile musician, Niko Sarran has stood out for many years through his ability to move effortlessly between musical styles — from jazz and blues to funk, electronic music, rock, and world music. This wide-ranging experience has shaped a rich career both on stage and in the studio, allowing him to develop a unique musical signature: sensitive, demanding, and always in service of the music.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with many renowned artists such as Louis Winsberg, Magic Malik, Dominique Di Piazza, Guy N’Sangué, Daniel Lévi (notably on the musical Les Dix Commandements), and Zouk Machine, continually enriching his playing through exposure to a broad range of artistic perspectives. Niko has also toured across Europe alongside international blues figures like Bob Brozman and Wolf Mail, confirming his reputation as a precise, expressive, and deeply attentive live performer.

Alongside his drumming career, Niko has developed a strong expertise as a sound engineer and artistic producer. A true production enthusiast, he has recorded, mixed, and produced over a hundred albums, primarily in the realms of jazz, blues, and electronic music. His ongoing work in the studio — including regular collaborations with Universal Music — reflects his sonic precision and his ability to bridge the gap between artistic vision and technical realization.

This dual perspective — behind the drum kit and behind the console — gives Niko Sarran a holistic and refined approach to the creative process.

“Playing ASBA drums is a natural choice for me. Their artisanal approach, the ability to customize every component, the care they put into their sound… It all resonates deeply with my approach, which never compromises on quality or meaning.”

Niko plays an ASBA drum set that he has crafted as a true extension of himself. As both a musician and sound engineer, he pays close attention to every detail of construction, constantly seeking the perfect balance between warmth, precision, and expressiveness. Proud to collaborate with a French brand that champions craftsmanship, sonic excellence, and musical passion, he fully embodies the values that ASBA stands for.
