Seb DODUS
ASBA artist – Leda E., Unspkble, Pord, OV
Seb Dodus is a French drummer blending rock energy with jazz sensitivity. With over 1,000 shows across Europe, he delivers a powerful, musical approach shaped by years of performance, study, and exploration across instruments.
At 50, Seb Dodus is a seasoned drummer and multi-instrumentalist, moving effortlessly between the raw energy of rock and the subtle language of jazz.
He began his musical journey at the age of 8, studying saxophone, percussion, and music theory, building a solid and versatile foundation early on. At 19, he fully committed to the drums, marking the beginning of a lifelong dedication to the instrument.
After serving as a saxophonist in the army during the Football World Cup, Seb continued his studies at the IMFP jazz school in Salon-de-Provence, while simultaneously training for seven years in drums with Michel Blanc at the Mende conservatory. In 2007, he graduated with top honors.
Over the years, Seb has performed extensively across Europe, with more than 1,000 concerts and over 15 years on the road, collaborating with various projects spanning rock, jazz, and contemporary music. His playing is defined by precision, musicality, and a strong sense of identity.
Beyond drums, he continues to explore saxophone, piano, synthesizers, and sound design, with a natural curiosity for machines and sonic experimentation.
In 2020, he earned his DEM (Diplôme d’Études Musicales) in jazz from the Aveyron conservatory, further solidifying his musical path.
A dedicated educator, Seb taught for over 10 years at the Croques Notes association and now teaches privately from his studio in northern Lozère.
“ASBA is exactly what I look for: a living instrument with character, one that responds to every nuance. Behind the kit, you can feel the craftsmanship, the wood… and above all, a true sonic identity.”
