French handmade, accessible, with no compromise on what truly matters.
Entirely handcrafted in our Lyon workshop, this snare drum embodies ASBA’s entry-level range at its most sincere. A snare designed to go straight to the point: wood, craftsmanship, sound.
Its 6-ply shell combines elm and beech in a balanced, musical configuration: 1 inner ply of elm, 4 core plies of beech, 1 outer ply of elm.
Beech, dense and stable, delivers a clear attack, strong projection, and excellent control. It is a wood known for its tonal consistency and versatility. Elm, more lively and responsive, enriches the spectrum with warm midrange frequencies and a very organic feel. Together, they create a snare drum that is precise, reactive, and full of character, without excess.
The shell is intentionally built without reinforcement rings at the bearing edges, allowing the wood to fully express itself. The result is freer vibration, a natural grain, and a direct, honest playing feel.
This snare drum is defined by a crisp attack, controlled sustain, and excellent ghost-note articulation. Equally at home in rehearsals, in the studio, or on stage. It does not try to impress, it simply does the job. And it does it well.
This is our vision of affordable French handmade craftsmanship. A true ASBA snare drum, without artifice, accessible, yet built with the same standards as our high-end models.
A gateway into the ASBA world. Simple, serious, musical.
